James Lew, the Hollywood stuntman and martial artist, died from congestive heart failure … TMZ has learned.
We obtained Lew’s death certificate from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, which shows he died August 23 at an assisted living facility in L.A.
The document lists “end-stage congestive heart failure” as his cause of death. No other significant conditions were listed.
As we first reported … Lew’s wife, Jordanna, told us he died at 73 after battling unspecified health issues.
Lew worked as a stunt coordinator and fight stuntman on dozens of movies, including “Star Trek,” “Rush Hour,” “Lethal Weapon 4,” “Action Jackson,” and “Timecop.”
Fans may also remember him from his hilarious fight scene with Charlie Sheen in “Hot Shots! Part Deux.”
Lew’s death certificate says he was cremated.

A Cornell University professor is standing firmly behind the woman at the center of the school’s explosive gang rape allegations … declaring sexual assault is NEVER the victim’s fault.
Kate Manne, a feminist philosopher and professor at Cornell, joined Alex Cooper on Sunday’s special episode of “Call Her Daddy” … taking aim at victim blaming and the treatment of women who come forward with sexual assault allegations.
“Rape is always 100% the fault of the rapist, 0% on the victim,” Manne says, before making her position on the Cornell case unmistakable … “For the record, I believe Jane Doe.”
The professor also questions why so much attention goes toward the futures of accused men rather than the women who say they’ve been assaulted.
“So many people worried about him missing out on his bright future. What about her bright future?” Manne asks.
As TMZ previously reported, a former Cornell student filed a civil lawsuit accusing seven fraternity members of drugging and gang-raping her in October 2024. The allegations have sparked national outrage and fueled the growing “I Am Jane Doe” movement.
Manne tells Cooper many students on campus feel betrayed … and the conversation digs into fraternity culture, consent and an alleged “bro code” that encourages men to protect one another rather than call out bad behavior.
Cooper also addresses the disturbing Snapchat messages referenced in the case … questioning whether they point to a larger problem.
The episode goes well beyond Cornell … but Manne’s message about who deserves blame couldn’t be more direct.

Shane Gillis got himself in a little hot water on “Saturday Night Live” after he dropped the F-bomb during a live sketch — and had to apologize for it later.
The comedian was last night’s host on ‘SNL’ and, while playing the son of Cat in the Hat, played by Mikey Day, Gillis got into a back and forth with Sam I Am, played by Andrew Dismukes. Dismukes was trying to make Gillis’ dad eat green eggs and ham for breakfast, sparking the funny, and accidentally foul-mouthed confrontation.
Gillis defended his father, saying … “Hey, what the hell is wrong with you? My dad said he doesn’t like them.” But Dismukes kept pressing Gillis, prompting Gillis to say, “Bro, it’s a non-starter. He said he doesn’t f***ing … Jeez — like ’em.”
Suddenly, Gillis realized what he had just said on national TV and seemed a bit embarrassed, waving to the crowd before getting back into character. Near the end of the sketch, Day brought the moment back up, calling Gillis a loser and slamming him for using a “bad word” before kicking him out of their house.

Although the censors were not fast enough to bleep the F-bomb on live TV, SNL staff later posted a clip of the sketch on social media with the word cut out.
Gillis ended the sketch with an impromptu apology, saying “Sorry about earlier.”
As you may know, Gillis was famously fired as an ‘SNL’ cast member in 2019, just a few days after he was hired, after clips from his old podcast surfaced showing him making anti-Asian slurs.
Yet, since then, Gillis has hosted the show 3 times — and it looks like this latest swearing gaffe is already in the rear view mirror.
