510-e starter kit instructions

Thank you for purchasing the 510-E starter kit! The 510-E is the newest in the 510 series, combining the sleek size and portability of the 510 cigarette with the new and very popular 510-E clearomizer. The 510-E starter kit comes with 4 510-E Clearomizers. The clearomizer are quickly becoming the most popular e-cigarette device for their simplicity, reliability and consistent performance. The 510-E is a bottom feeding clearomizer which prevents dry hits as some may experience with other styles of clearomizers. It holds about 2/3 ml of e-liquid, and optimizes e-liquid use meaning you don't have to fill it up as often as some other models. The clearomizer is transparent, so you can always tell how much e-liquid is remaining.

The 510-E starter kit comes complete with:

  • Two 180mah lithium ion rechargeable batteries (available in automatic and manual style)
  • Four 510-E clearomizers -- Available in whistle tipped or flat tipped
  • One needle tipped dropper bottle tip
  • One USB corded charger
  • One AC Charger

Getting Started: 3 Steps

STEP #1: Charge the batteries!

The batteries in your 510-E charger come with some battery power from the manufacture, but it is recommended to charge your batteries to full capacity before their first use.

  1. Charge for 4 hours
  2. Remove and use for 15 minutes
  3. Charge for an additional 1 hour

To charge the batteries you can use a standard USB plug from any computer, laptop, PS3, Charge time for a dead battery are approximately 1-2 hours.

NOTE: Not all USB plugs are the same. It is recommend to use only USB ports that are directly connected to the computer and not extension USB ports. The voltage required for the USB charger may not be met by some smaller laptop and extension USB connections.

When charging your battery, simply screw the battery clockwise into the USB charger until the light on the charger changes from green to red and/or the battery light turns on. When the light is red, the battery is charging. The light on the charger will turn green when the battery is fully charged. On some models, the charge indicator light is on the battery, which will light when charging, then turn off when your charge is complete.

Important notes and safety precautions about charging your 510 battery:

  • DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE BATTERIES ON THE CHARGER. Over-tightening the battery in the USB charger can cause the charger or battery to malfunction. Turn the battery slowly only until the light on the battery flashes, or (if your charger has a light) the light turns from green to red.
  • Always plug the USB charger in before the 510 battery. Ensure the light on the USB charger is green before charging the battery.
  • Do not leave a charging battery unattended.
  • Do not leave a charged battery on the charger for an extended period of time

STEP #2: Learn the parts of your 510-E electronic cigarette.

510-T ecigarette breakdown

The 510-E electronic cigarette consists of just two parts. From the bottom to the top, they are called:

  • The battery. The battery is a 180mah lithium ion rechargeable battery.
  • The 510-T clearomizer: This device is an all-in-one unit. It holds the e-liquid in its reservoir. It has the mouthpiece you vape from. It also heats up and vaporizes your e-liquid in with a bottom feeding heating coil.

STEP #3: Fill your 510-E electronic cigarette tank with e-liquid.

Filling up your 510-E clearomizer is pretty simple. Here is a step-by-step instruction to get you going:

  1. Remove the mouthpiece by unscrewing counter-clockwise
  2. Using a needle nosed drip tip for your bottle, or a syringe with a needle Insert your tip into the middle hole. (The two side holes are for airflow) Gently squeeze or plunge the e-liquid into the reservoir, leaving a few millimeters of space at the top.
  3. Replace mouthpiece by screwing it clockwise.

A few last tips

Now that your batteries are charged and your 510-E Clearomizer is filled with e-liquid, you are ready to vape. Here are several things to keep in mind before you begin:

  1. The clearomizer has primer liquid in it. The primer liquid helps to protect the clearomizer from corrosion before it is used. This liquid is completely safe, but will alter the taste of the e-liquid for the first few hours of use. It will take about 10-15 draws of your e-cigarette before the primer liquid is burnt off.
  2. The 510-E clearomizer -- like most clearomizers -- has a break in period. It takes several tanks of use before the full flavour of the e-liquid will come through. Do not be concerned if your first few fills tastes weak or without much flavour.
  3. The clearomizers can be re-used many times before being replaced. In our testing we have had clearomizers last 100+ refills without problems.
  4. Most people find the most effective way to vape is to take slower and longer draws then you would with a tobacco cigarette.
  5. Some people find taking a short quick 'primer puff' before taking a long draw is beneficial.
  6. Never hold the unit at or above horizontal when vaping. Always angle the unit down at least slightly.

Here is some more information about different parts of your e-cigarette:

The clearomizer:

The atomizer is considered a disposable part of your e-cigarette. Atomizers typically will last anywhere from two weeks to a month or more, but they will eventually burn out and need to be replaced. To get the most out of your atomizer, here are some tips top keep in mind:

  • Avoid dry hits: We experienced little to no dry hits during testing, but if you are getting dry hits (warm draws with little vapor production and a burning taste/feel), just take a few puffs without starting the battery.
  • E-Liquid coming up to the mouthpiece: This is another thing we had very little problem with, but if the clearomizer is left upside down, or if too much e-liquid is put into the tank when you fill it, you can get e-liquid into the airflow vents along the side. You can simply blow through your clearomizer a few times, cleaning the excess e-liquid that comes out.
  • Cleaning your clearomizers: There is no specific information about cleaning the 510-E clearomizers, and in our tests they seem to do well for a long time without cleaning.
  • The 510-E clearomizer has a sealed base so there should be no e-liquid leaking from the bottom. It is therefore save to use with both automatic and manual batteries.

The Battery:

Cleaning your battery:

Over time e-liquid can get trapped into the threads of your battery. Cleaning it is pretty simple to do. I recommend using a Q-Tip and some rubbing alcohol (or vodka) and inserting it into the hole at the top of the battery. Simply spin it over the threads. Repeat until the Q-Tip has no e-liquid residue on it. You can also use paper towel that is twisted up to do the same thing. The 510-E batteries are lithium ion and have no memory, so you do not need to completely drain your battery before recharging them. If you are planning on storing them for an extended period of time, you should discharge the batteries to around 50% and store in a cool dark place. To extend the life of your batteries, do not let them fully discharge before recharging. If your 510-E battery gets wet, place your battery in a zip lock bag with a cup of rice for 48 hours. The rice will draw the liquid from the battery and dry it. NOTE: Never attempt to charge or use a wet battery. This can cause the battery and/or charger to short.

The 510-E batteries have an automatic shutoff after 12 seconds of continuous use (automatic batteries are 5 seconds of continual use). The battery light will blink 5 times indicating the battery automatic shutoff has been activated. After a few seconds your battery will be ready to use again. This is designed to prevent accidental discharge of the battery. When carrying your 510 electronic cigarette, be sure not to store it somewhere where the battery button can be pressed. The atomizer will get very hot if forced on for several seconds and create a lot of heat.

The charger:

The charger is a two piece unit, with an AC adapter as well as a USB adapter. The USB adapter can be used on its own by simply plugging it into a USB port. To charge your 510 batteries with AC power, just plug the USB charger into the USB port on the AC adapter and then plug the AC adapter into any standard wall plug. You can clean your charger threads the same way you do your battery. The spacing is tight between the battery threads and the wall of the charger, so be gentle when cleaning it. Do not leave your charger plugged in when not in use. Do not leave a charging battery unattended.
